1 Minute Pitch

My project 2 community are the members of the gaming community here at FSU who are active visitors of the Askew Student Life Center building here at campus. That project focused on why our schools gaming community was not as popular as other communities and why it should be more popular. For project 3, I will be using three powerful genres that will potentially familiarize a larger part of our schools gaming population of the Askew Student Life Center and the beautiful gaming community it hosts. My first genre will be the use of a video game called Minecraft. Minecraft is a sandbox, survival, and open world game, that is strongly community driven and influenced. It is basically a virtual lego game where you can build anything and pretty much do anything, which is why this is a popular sandbox game today. This genre will appeal to the audience that I am directing this towards, because I can guarantee that the majority of gamers are familiar with Minecraft. I will utilize the sandbox element that this game has to offer to develop my next genre. I have began creating a replica of the Askew Student Life Center and my own dorm building Deviney, using the building blocks that minecraft offers. My plan is to get the scaling and distance as correct as possible so that it could act as interactive virtual map, which is what my second genre will be. Finally, when that project is complete, I will publish my creation to my third genre. My third genre will be creating a reddit post on the fsu subreddit. It is an active subreddit where people discuss things pertaining to fsu all the time. My project will gain attention their by FSU’s population. I will also offer a download link of my project to those who are interested, to view it or even add on to it. It could potentially develop a community of people using minecraft to create a virtual replica of Florida States campus.
