Chapter 9 of the Bedford Book of Genres gave me a greater understanding on our next project for class. Putting together a multigenre project is something I have not done before so reading about this chapter gave me important information to approach this project. It lay out that all the genres are supposed to be connected in order to express an idea. It talks about how we could relate it to a community, which will be necessary when creating project 3. I plan to use multiple genres and connect them effectively to advertise my community, as mentioned in chapter 9. I plan to use a video game called Minecraft in order to create a map to the ASLC Cyber Café, which is a gaming community itself. I feel the combination of the video game and the map will allow me to advertise to FSU’s gaming community, which will bring more members to this community. I plan to make a Reddit post on the FSU’s subreddit so people at FSU can see my project, and perhaps add on to it on their own. This will allow for different types of media to advertise, because chapter 9 recommends different medias to increase my chances of my audience connecting to my advertisement.
