Research proposals, interviews, and rhetorical situations are things I have never thought of doing for a research style paper. My greatest fear in attempting something, is not know how to start to attempt it in the first place. That is how I felt when discovering the requirements that we needed to complete Project 2 for ENC2135. At that point, that is when I felt all hope was lost for me. The combination of the tight timeframe and the intensity required to complete the project worried me. I wondered to myself if any of my classmates have the same worries as I do. Research sounded to me like a simple idea of just gathering ideas and slapping them together to create a research paper, but this is unique to me. To me this project feels so complex to me, but luckily I found hope in The Bedford Book of Genres. Chapter 5 specifically took my confusion about this project and dissected it for me and guided me through it. It was satisfying to see so much information pertaining to creating a research proposal and it created a visible path for me to attempt Project 2. I can say now that this chapter boosted my confidence and will definitely help out when I start my research for Project 2 and develop a finished product.
